Carson-Newman College is a four year, private, co-ed, Christian, liberal arts college founded in 1851 and affiliated with the Baptist denomination. C-N is nationally recognized for providing a challenging academic curriculum aligned with an unyielding commitment to instilling Christian values and character.
Enrollment is approximately 2,000, including over 175 graduate students. With a student faculty ratio of 13:1 and an average class size of 16, students study in an environment that is challenging yet supportive.
Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, TN, just 30 minutes from the city of Knoxville. The campus is noted for stately white-column buildings on rolling hills, surrounded by lakes and the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
C-N offers over 50 majors and courses of study. Eight degree options are available including BS, BA, BSM, BSN, and MSN, Med, and MAT.
Campus facilities include 25 academic buildings on 90 acres of land. Athletic facilities include a new football complex, soccer field, softball and baseball fields, and tennis courts. The college gymnasium is housed in a 96,000 square foot award-winning student activities center, which includes a pool, weight room, indoor track, three practice courts, racquetball courts, game room and student lounge. The campus bookstore, snack bar, and campus post office are also located in the student activities center. Technology facilities include campus wide wireless access, computer labs in each academic building, a campus wide computer network, telephone, cable television, and computer network hook-ups in each residence hall room. The campus library houses over 200,000 volumes plus numerous forms of electronic media.
Students at C-N are involved! There is opportunity for involvement in numerous campus activities, including honor societies, religious, service, ministry, student government, and pre-professional organizations. CN is a member of NCAA Division II athletics and boasts teams in football, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, track and cross country, baseball, softball and volleyball. |
