PICTURE YOURSELF AT OUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY!
Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio, a private Catholic coeducational institution, is large enough to meet your academic and co-curricular needs but small enough to care about your individual talents. Professors know you by name and give you individual attention in and out of class. You can select a bachelor's degree from more than 60 areas of specialization. Degrees offered include emerging career fields, such as electronic commerce/information systems, e-business and entrepreneurship and environmental science, and service professions, such as social work and education. Biliterate programs are available in business, communication disorders, psychology, and social work. The University also offers master's degrees in 47 graduate areas, and two doctoral degrees. Living up to its mission of providing education to those with limited access, the University offers weekend degree programs in San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas and also evening classes at the new Northwest campus in San Antonio. Since its founding in 1895 by the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence, the University has provided students the basic tools needed for success - a solid academic foundation, a strong spiritual base, and leadership and service opportunities.
The mission of Our Lady of the Lake University, an independent, Catholic institution sponsored by the Congregation of Divine Providence, is:
- To provide excellent teaching through traditional and innovative educational programs;
- To develop its diverse, intercultural student bodies in Christian, person-centered learning communities; and
- To graduate individuals who are competent and committed to service.
OLLU is located in San Antonio, Texas, the ninth largest city in the nation. San Antonio provides a small-town atmosphere within a major metropolitan city. Located three miles from the University is the city's exciting downtown, where you can enjoy the River Walk with its vast array of restaurants and shops, visit the world-famous Alamo, and attend concerts and sporting events. San Antonio also boasts world-class museums, historical missions, a first-class symphony, Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the 10-day Fiesta celebration, the third largest zoo in the nation, and is home to the 2003 NBA World Champion Spurs basketball team. Annual celebrations highlight the city's rich heritage of Mexican, Spanish, German, African-American, Irish and English cultures. The Alamo City is just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, the enticing border of Mexico, the State Capitol in Austin, and the breathtaking Hill Country.
